Same day delivery Newman?

Same day delivery Newman?

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers
from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. How about wind or in Newman's case Jerry or Kramer.   But  Just ask Amazon and see where we are with same day or next day delivery today. Also  it seems that drones  have more value then  digging for gold, just ask the folks at Asher Resources in Canada.  Enjoy the day!

  • The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently opened up its registry for consumer drone users and has established rules for size and terms of use. This likely means that it will be turning its attention to commercial drone use. In June 2015, the FAA stated that its regulations for commercial drones will be finalized within one year.
  • Drone Delivery Canada announced a merger with Canadian gold exploration company Asher Resources. Once the take over is complete, it will operate as a drone company and gold mining operations will cease, reports Internet Retailer. This will provide Drone Delivery Canada with wider resources to accomplish its goal of bringing drone delivery to Canadian consumers by 2018.

In September, Drone Delivery Canada  announced a partnership  with Canadian online  marketplace Shop.ca that was aimed at introducing delivery of online orders via drone throughout Canada by 2018. Drone Delivery Canada CEO Tony Di Benedetto  CEO says Drone Delivery Canada has begun testing the service, though he declined to provide details on those tests. Becoming a publicly traded company, Di Benedetto says, will help speed the development process.

“The company is going public to have easier access to capital to help fund the development of our drone development platform,” he says. “We continue to develop the technology and are executing various levels of testing.”Di Benedetto says the company is working with other retail clients, though he declined to specify which ones.

  • Singapore Post became the first postal service to successfully complete a package delivery by drone in October  2015 .The company is now looking to expand internationally after acquiring a majority stake in US-based logistics provider Jagged Peak. This provides Singapore Post with Jagged Peak's more than 20 warehouses throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.
  • Amazon recently gave more detail about how its Prime Air drone deliveries will work, reports Ars Technica. According to VP for Global Public Policy Paul Misener, Prime Air will be able to carry packages that weigh up to five pounds across distances of up to ten miles. And the biggest part of Amazon's promise: all deliveries will arrive within 30 minutes.

The global workforce behind drone deliveries means that this futuristic delivery system could be happening sooner than predicted. Additionally, drone deliveries could be a huge boost to building e-commerce markets in more rural areas such as India and China where delivery logistics are not as well established on the ground. Thanks to the fine folks at BI Intelligence , Internet Retailer  for content and and thanks to the USPS for the motto via Herodotus.  A special  thanks to Newman and all the other letter carriers. Special mention to Cliff Claven who did a bang up job as well.
